Consecutive Good Mail!

What a great day. Good mail two days in a row. This one was completely unexpected from Jill- I guess our packages overlapped in the postal sytem! How did you know that these rice cakes are one of my favorite non-guilty treats? (Again, thanks for thinking of the dieter! I'm still on my 30-day plan :) Those alphabet cards are way too cute! I've never seen them before! Everything in there was perfect. I was slightly alarmed when at first I saw that it was packaged in a corn dog box. Then I came to my senses as I realized that a) Corndogs wouldn't keep in the mail and more importantly, b) Jill would never send me corn dogs! I had to take a picture of the box because I loved Whitney's mark on it. :) Thanks Jill! Reciprocity abounds again, and from the one who taught us all about good mail and it's virtues.
In other news, I had my last personal training session with Enoc today. I'm actually disappointed. There is real benefit from meeting with him as opposed to any other sessions I've had at other gyms in the past. If we could ever afford it, I would definitely spend money on more sessions. Even through my rock eating habits as of late, I still saw results. He got out the old calipers and tape measure again, and I was more excited for it this time than I was the first. According to his evil scale, I didn't lose any weight in the last month, but according to mine, I lost 2 pounds. (Even with a trip to Denver- a veritable den of iniquity where delicious diet havoc-wrecking delights abound!) But even better- I (supposedly) lost 2 inches off of my hips and waist and chest and 1 1/2 inches off my thighs (halleluah!) and 1 inch from my neck. It's kind of hard to believe, because I don't see that much change, but hey- the tape measure doesn't lie, and for once, it's on my side. And besides, he's a trained professional. And besides again, I would have been a little peeved if I hadn't seen those results, because the stuff he made me do is hard! Way harder than anything I ever do on my own. (again, another plus of having a trainer there to discipline you. I will call him The Enforcer from now on. He's a physical fitness villain/superhero.) I was quite impressed and did enough back-patting for all of us. In other words, no need to do so, I just wanted to share my glee. Now if I can only keep up with it now that I don't have scheduled meetings with him...

I can't believe you thought even for a moment that I would send you corndogs! That's frightening and funny. Landon eats corndogs often (much to my chagrin) so we have a lot of those boxes around. They're good mailing boxes so I save them, though that closeup picture of the corndog on the box is very frightening.

Anyway, I hope the stuff wasn't too random for you. I got it all together on May 11th and then realized you were going on your trip to Denver, so I tucked the box under my scrap table and forgot about it until yesterday. Isn't that funny? I had to laugh when I got the package you sent to me because I had just sent this to you. Good times. By the way, I sent you those straws because they're our favorite. They're not too skinny and not too fat and they bend. I think if you give them a whirl you'll love them. Enjoy.

As for The Enforcer, I can't even imagine having my own fitness person, especially one with calipers. I'm nowhere near comfortable enough to do that. Perhaps after a few thousand more times up my nemesis hill from hell, but until then.

How nice to be shrinking! I feel just the opposite, but admittedly, I'm afraid of calipers, so perhaps I'll never know for sure. Not certain how I feel about living in the "den of iniquity." Maybe that's my problem.

Congratulations on the shrinking!! They say that muscle weighs more that fat.... It seems to me that having worked with the trainer, you know what workouts to do for certain benefits. It has to increase your metabolic rate, especially the cardio. I really appreciate your motivation and determination to accomplish your goals! I think 3 times a week is a realistic goal and will provide the benefits you are looking for. (Watch out for the brownies!!)

Yeah! I am so impressed at your stick-to-it-ness! So nice to see results. I don't think I would care about the scale if I could see that I was shrinking, you must be noticing it in your clothes?

I love watching the good mail and the fun things you guys are sending. (We used Jill's corndog boxes for Valentines mailboxes this year, they really are useful!)

Hey congratulations on those inches- and I wanted to let you know about my physical reawakening. haha Last semester, I had a hardcore workout class (mandatory for drama majors) led by a cracked out DANCE teacher from Juilliard. It was a 2 hour class of INTENSE cardio, abs, push ups... really intimidating. (I am not an athlete, I have toothpick arms) After the class ended, I was scared that I wouldn't work out alone- but I am now a gym rat and I actually enjoy it. So it could happen to you.

I think I would rather shrink in inches than worry about the scale, so congrats! You don't need the Enforcer there, you can pretty much do anything you stick your mind to. Just think of the money you are paying to go and hopefully that is a good motivation for you, as well as the whole healthy thing :)

That's awesome! Man, I would love to hear those kind of results! The Enforcer - haha, that's awesome. I'm sure you can bring out your "inner Enforcer" when you go - it's nice that you have already worked through the routines he did with you, so you know what it takes (:

And great mail - how fun (: I am so frustrated because I am not finding 6x6 envelopes anywhere! I've checked Roberts and Michaels with no luck. Any ideas?

Good mail two day in a row! Going to the mail box will be disappointing if it doesn't keep up!

When I had a trainer, I hardly lost any wieght at all, but I went down almost four sizes--I was verging on a size 8, and got down to a size 2. My trainer warned me to not be so fixated on how much (or little) I weighed, but how I looked. He told me that 125 would be the perfct weight for me. I'm 5'1". I usually think 110 is good. But like you said, the tape measure doesn't lie, and 125 was just about right. Psychologically I still can't wrap my brain around that one!

I am so impressed with your discipline with your diet and your exercise. I agree that size is definetly more important than what you weigh. I say that but I weigh myself all the time to make sure that it's below what I think it needs to be. Why, why are all of us so concerned about weight? Oh well another thing that bonds us as women.

Congratulations on the shrinking. I would love to be shrinking, myself. I keep thinking of the woman in the grocery store who called you mini. That rocks.

You gotta love how the polka dot tissue coordinates with the straws. Ah, good mail AND good presentation. Sweet.
