Generosity

There is a lot of talk about generosity lately among our blogs, and rightfully so. Keeping with the theme, I want to share the most generous people I know, and those I learned an inkling of it from- My parents, of course. My parents have bailed me out more than I like to admit in the public forum of this blog, and probably more than is good for me, though not unappreciated. (See the unveiling of the album I made for them, 'If Not For You', in March archives)Seriously though, if not for them I would be on the streets somewhere. I owe everything I have and am to my parents. They are, as Michelle has stated, my benefactor. The most recent of their help includes paying for the down payment portion of my gym membership. They are always giving when it isn't asked of them, but they just see a need. (Unfortunately for all of us involved, there is often a need.)I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my parents, and anything generous I may ever muster to do in my life, I'm sure I owe at least in part, to them! Thanks mom and dad for everything you do in my life!

i love hearing people say nice things about their parents.

what a wonderful photo.

it is such a battle i am sure for parents to teach their children generousity without spoiling them and having them be unappreciative. sounds like your parents have hit it right on the head! way to go.

I am constantly amazed (and not a little jealous) by your parents' generosity to their girls. It's very apparent that you both have had such good examples of giving in your lives--both you and Michelle are very giving people. Thanks for sharing some feelings about your parents.

I also frequently experience "parent envy" when it comes to your mom and dad. They seem to have mastered the art of unconditional love and nonjudgment, and those two things make everything else a joy. You and Michelle are blessed and lucky.

I can only repeat what Jill said in her comment: we are indeed blessed and lucky to have these parents!

Ditto everything above. I just feel amazed to be related to them! I don't know of anyone who is more unconditionally generous--with not only money, but also ideas, time, etc. I love your parents!

I too adore your parents. Don't tell anyone but Uncle Fred is my favorite of the Taylor boys. It is nice to grow up and appreciate your parents for all that they have done and are still willing to do for you. Cute picture of them by the way.

Well, that's about the best welcome home present I can think of!! I just pulled up from driving home all day from North Carolina and within minutes came up to check the blogs! It's one of our favorite things in life right now, giving to the most wonderful daughters in the world. You both give back in numerous ways and your righteous desires and examples to all make you deserving of all things. You;re welcome, always. And just one more time, Dad is my example of perfect selflessness and generousity.
