Molly's Baby Shower

Finally, a post on Molly's baby shower I had last month. She's having a unisex baby (what I call when you don't find out the sex-), so I had a somewhat neutral color scheme in aqua, green and orange. I also tried to incorporate a circle, or polka dot aspect. It all started with the invites. (Timm erased all the personal info on the invite so I could safely blog it, but the text continued to wrap around the circle.)
Decorations included, as usual, poms. I reused Bella's birthday banner from last year (which now permanently resides in her room-) and just added some foam stickers to spell 'Congratulations'.

Since it was late afternoon we just had a dessert buffet. I made Frozen Cheesecake and a Triple Lemon Layer Cake, while Linda contributed Coconut Cupcakes with Lime Buttercream Frosting. We also had a really good punch at Michelle's suggestion: Sprite Zero with Crystal Light and cucumbers. So refreshing!

I used Miranda's great idea of making some iron-on applique oneises at the shower as well.

I tend to get caught up with the party and forget to take pictures of the guests, so sadly this is the best I got.

Kim and Faith.

Linda, working on her adorable bird onesie.
Karilee.

Molly, appreciating the diaper cake that Karilee brought for her. (Could we please come up with a better name for those things? They're very cool in concept, but the name does not paint a pretty picture. I mean really, who would want a cake make out of diapers?)
We only got 5 onesies made at the shower, so I finished them and then took these pictures, at Miranda's request. She has a great tutorial for this super easy project, and I highly recommend it. (Both the tutorial and the project itself.)

This is just a sampling of some favorites- there were 15 in all.
I thought the shower was a success. Good food (all dessert), good friends, an absence of horrid games, and a cute craft to boot!
And Molly still hasn't had her baby, almost a week past her due date. Here's hoping it's soon and we can meet this new unisex baby, who I dreamed was a boy.

GAH! I absolutely love it! The decor, the invites, everything! I'm SO HAPPY that you strung the onesies up on a clothesline. They are so adorable. You did such a great job!

What a stylish shower! I love the idea of making iron-on onesies as a shower activity, how fun and different!

I'm so sad I wasn't there! Everything looks absolutely beautiful. How talented you are!

Making onesies is a wonderful idea because it means that you don't have to smell baby food or do anything else degrading and creepy. Those are all adorable. And I'm going to have to try that punch asap. Your Mom told us about it last weekend, and it sounds oh so good.

The invitations are SO cute! I never doubted you would come up with some darling, original thing. Jealous, as usual.

Everything looks beautiful, and I think the onesies were a great idea, they turned out way too cute.

And I just have to second Emily's relief over not having to do anything degrading or creepy at a shower!

I'm not sure what is the cutest thing about the shower...each part of it trumps the last!

Way, way, way too cute. Cute. Very cute. So cute. CUTE!

I never had a cute shower like that...and great photos! Yea, I'm loving this notion. It's a keeper for the files.
