Well, when I actually take the time to put makeup on, it's fairly simple. First, I try and smooth out my pubescent-looking skin with concealer and foundation, finishing with a pressed powder. Then I use some white neutral-looking eyeshadow all over my eyelid, and always always use a black liquid liner of some type. (there are about 3 different ones I alternate between) Usually I use a shimmer eyeshadow of some kind in the white/gray/silver family and always black mascara. A fresh pink blush, either a powder or a shimmery cream, and then a pink or plum-colored lip stain with gloss. Done. Occasionally I go a little bolder with the eyeshadow in color or intensity.

I always love the colors you use and wish I could wear the pinks/plums as well as you do. Why do they just look stupid on me? Again, I contend that you got the best genes.
I have no skills in this department at all.
I agree with Michelle. I love the lip colors you always have. And I could never pull them off. I've dabbled a lot in the bright and bold eye colors, but can never pull off those bright and bold lips. There's one color that does me justice in the winter, as long as I'm wearing grays that day.
very glad someone else asked this question!
Coming from the Petersen genes, I think you have it made. For those who don't know "the Petersen genes", they are the primping genes...and cannot be ignored!
My makeup routine is way too involved, but the eyebrow challenge is the real issue. Thank heavens, you did not get that Petersen gene. Denise will relate.
I can't believe that you can do your makeup on the sofa with a small compact mirror. That alone is amazing to me. And I agree with Michelle, that your colors always look great! I believe that I could be considered a makeup hoarder...there must be a reality show right around the corner that will deal with that.
