Grateful for Linda

I have known Linda for about 20 years. Other than my family, there are very few people I have known for that long. When we moved to Charlotte almost 3 1/2 years ago, she and her family were instant friends, and sometimes surrogate family for us.
I am grateful for the entire Giler family, but today I am specifically thankful for Linda. One reason is because each week she picks Fiona and I up and takes us to Weight Watchers, then lets us tag along while she does errands, and then buys us lunch. I really look forward to these outings. For one thing, I don't have a car, so I only go out of my neighborhood a couple of times a week. For the most part if I can't bike there, I don't go there. I love having a 'pogner' to go to Weight Watchers with, as well as a ride there. I love that she takes us out to lunch every time. A real treat for me, and so unnecessary but equally appreciated. Mostly, above all these things, I am thankful that Linda takes me under her wing. I am thankful that her friendship feels like family, that my kids love her, that we have frank conversations, that we are honest, and that even though 21 years separate us, we are friends.
Thank you Linda.

It is so nice of Linda to do those things for you and to be surrogate mother! I think we could all use a friend like her.

I'm glad you have WW buddy, though they must certainly laugh at her being a member. I have a WW buddy, too, and it sure makes weigh-ins and meetings more enjoyable.

I love spending time with you as well and have really enjoyed our WW outings together. I feel very blessed to have you all in my life and feel truly blessed to call you my friend. Many thanks for the kind words.

As a mother, there is little more endearing than to have a dear friend love and pay attention to your children.

I have long considered it a true gift to have Linda be your friend and watchful entertainer! I can just imagine the two of you together, as I'm pretty sure that I can't think of two more entertaining and funny friends. I always look forward to the time she and I spend together as well, and know that I can look forward to the same kind of honest discussions, married with funny quips and accounts that always make me laugh. She really has the way.

I love having you close to her and her close to you. She takes my place often when the miles separate us, and I'm sure with a lot more stimulation than I usually offer!

Thanks, Linda. I really love you too.

This is so sweet, Jess. What a gift to have such a friend nearby who can provide so many wonderful things. I agree with Mom, nothing is more endearing to me than someone genuinely enjoying my children!
