My style and aesthetic have undoubtedly been influenced by my mom, but for the most part I do my own thing. My mom has impeccable taste, but I am a little more scaled down, casual, 'bright' and maybe eclectic than she. While I like to do my own thing, I will ask her advice, and I owe many, many, many of the things I have (especially anything nice) to my mom. Without her generous gifts, I wouldn't have anything with which to work my own style. And of course, without growing up in her home, constantly amidst beautiful things, I wouldn't have a reference point for my own style.
